The good, the bad and the ugly om Ventilasjonskjøling

FUTURUM – An exhibition about the future

The FUTURUM exhibition is part of the international science festival The Big Challenge organized by NTNU from June 16-19 2019.

Opening hours:

Sunday, Monday and Tuesday: 10.00 – 18.00

Wednesday: 10.00 – 14.00

Entrance fee: FREE

Where: Krigsseilerplassen

What is this about?

The theme of the exhibition is the «green transition» and how we can become a low-emission society by 2050. Research groups at NTNU will present some of their work and the ZEN Research Centre is one of them.

Our module is called «Trondheim in the future – zero emissions in all neighbourhoods» (norsk: «Framtidens Trondheim – Null utslipp i alle bydeler»).

We present some of our ongoing projects along the «Knowledge Axis». Starting in Sluppen in the south, incudes Gløshaugen Campus, before ending up in Brattøra in the north. The Knowledge Axis is at the heart of Trondheim’s future urban development.

Our module will include:

  1. How should we plan new neigbourhoods in Trondheim to ensure good living- and working environments for our citizens? PhD candidate Lillian S. Rokseth’s presents results from her work with spatial qualities and mobility at Sluppen.
  2. The Nidarvoll school will be a zero emission building. Masterstudents at NTNU have been involved in the planning process and present some of their work.
  3. Campus Development present their model of the whole Gløshaugen campus area and Multiconsult has developed an interactive, digital presentation of Gløshaugen campus’ potential solar energy production.
  4. Posters by Asplan Viak presenting Trondheim in 2050.
  5. A map of wishes – what do you think a sustainable neighbourhood should be like? Do you have any suggestions for a sustainable Trondheim? Write down your thoughts and ideas, and stick them on the map!
  6. We are planning zero emission neighbourhoods for our future citizens, but do we know what they think about sustainability and a low-emission society? We visited Sverresborg ungdomsskole and Sveberg barneskole to ask pupils about their opinions – here you can see the films from the visits.
  7. Powerhouse at Brattøra – what is a «plus energy» building? Watch Skanska‘s film about Powerhouse, along with illustrations by Snøhetta.
Location: Downtown Trondheim Time: 10:00 - End date: 19. June 2019
